Become a Reframe Partner
Reframe invites filmmakers, distributors, archives, and other owners of film and video content to become partners. Some benefits of Reframe:
- Non-exclusive: Reframe’s is non-exclusive, allowing partners to continue distributing content directly or through alternative outlets;
- Free or low-cost digitization: Digitization from a video source is provided at no cost and a wide variety of formats can be supported. For projects on film, high quality digital telecine is offered at a discounted rate, the cost of which is deferred. This is an excellent solution for any artist or organization with content “stuck on the shelf.” For those concerned about recouping the cost of a film transfer, we will also offer a digitize-on-demand option, where your film will be scheduled for digitization only after a certain number of people have expressed interest in ordering it.;
- Digital formats: Reframe currently allows partners to distribute work through these methods:
- DVD-on-demand. An on-demand purchase model removes the need to maintain costly inventory. All DVDs are packaged in Amaray cases with a full color wrap and disc face. Packaging and shipping to customers are at no cost to Reframe partners.
- Download-to-own. Customers may download programs for viewing on a variety of devices. If a user’s computer is lost or destroyed, the user can simply reactivate it on a new device.
- Download-to-rent. Partners can set the rental parameters so that a file will expire after a certain number of views or after a certain period of time. Soon we will be offering educational rental models, allowing the price to be based on number of students.
- Variable pricing: For each title, partners have the ability to set numerous purchase and rental prices to accommodate the educational market and/or individual consumers. More importantly, we’ve tiered your return so that you get back greater percentages on higher price points for the educational market.
- Robust discovery platform: Reframe will allow users to easily find specific titles, filmmakers or distributors, as well as browse to discover new works. Our curation model will allow Reframe to be a trusted source for hard to find films. As the site grows, Reframe will become an online community where people can share, discuss and connect around films within the system.
- Competitive royalty rates and collective bargaining power: Reframe has negotiated a competitive royalty rate with its current partner, Amazon. We will continue to pursue deals with additional commercial platforms, which content partners may opt-in on a case by case basis. Aggregation of content allows for additional deals to be made at rates more favorable than individual filmmakers or distributors would be able to secure alone.
