More than Chemistry: The Romantic Choices of American Jews by JHVC 6 films

More than Chemistry looks at love and romance in a Jewish context, examining the ways that social and cultural forces influence romantic choices. Demonstrating that "falling in love" can involve much "more than chemistry," the course helps viewers think in new ways about one of the central decisions of personal, and Jewish, life.

This list is drawn from a Jewish Heritage Video Collection course created by Sylvia Barack Fishman. Her full course and discussion can be found at http://www.jhvc.org/courses/index.php?url=chem.html.

Sylvia Barack Fishman is assistant professor of contemporary Jewish life in the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University and director publications at the Cohen Center Modern Jewish Studies. Her most recent books are A Breath of Life: Feminism in the American Jewish Community and Follow My Footprints: Changing Images of Women in American Jewish Fiction.
