60's AMERICA ON FILM by wb22 9 films

These are films I used in a course with the above title taught in the late 70's & early 80's. It mixed up these films with a lot of others, features, avant garde & docs -- including GREEN BERET, O DEM WATERMELONS (R. Nelson), Newsreel Films on the Black Panthers,ALICES RESTAURANT, NO VIETNAMESE EVER CALLED ME NIGGER,MONTEREY POP, NOTHING BUT A MAN, WOMANHOUSE etc. The idea was to offer a kind of portrait of the era. My favorite story from that course is the student who asked if that round sign with 3 pie-shaped divisions painted on Arlo Guthries truck was a symbol for Mercedes Benz....
