Hot Sun Films is a film/video production and training company based in Nairobi, Kenya. Our work focuses on youth in Kibera, east Africa’s largest slum. Through our non-profit arm, Hot Sun Foundation, we tell compelling stories, using art and media for social transformation. We offer a unique picture of urban Africa, revealing new talents to the world and creating community role models.

Nathan Collett, director and founder of Hot Sun Films/Foundation, grew up in Venezuela, Australia, Pakistan, USA (California), and Kenya. Nathan lives in Nairobi. He has an undergraduate degree in African Studies from Stanford University and an MFA in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

Nathan has directed, shot and edited numerous films and videos for corporate clients and has made several award winning fictional short films including KIBERA KID. Currently he is developing a feature length film based on KIBERA KID. Through filmmaking and cultural exchanges, Nathan hopes to change the world's impressions of Africa and make it a better place for those on the lowest rung of society.
